MTE Devices, Inc. offers an arm support device for those that are unable to move their arms with enough strength to feed themselves or perform other simple tasks.

"The Arm Thing” is an assistive arm device consisting of an individualized arm support, a ball and socket joint and a stable non-slip base. The ball joint gives the arm support the ability to rotate 360 degrees and freely move vertically up and down. The arm support incorporates an aluminum channel and slide, which adjusts the vertical height of the arm support.

  • A - Anodized Aluminum Base
  • B - Teflon Ball Joint
  • C - High Density Plastic Socket
  • D - Anodized Aluminum “C” Channel
  • E - Anodized Aluminum Movable Rail
  • F - Rail Adjustment Knob
  • G - Arm Support
  • H - Wrist Strap
  • I - Forearm strap
  • J - Wrist and Forearm Strap Attachment Surface
The base (A) has a non-skid surface on the bottom which reduces movement on most household countertops, tables, or desk surfaces. The ball joint (B) fits snugly into the socket (C) this joint allows “The Arm Thing” to swivel 360°. The ball and socket joint also allows movement of the device vertically (up and down), and side to side. The “C” channel (D) and the movable rail (E) form an adjustable rail to which the arm support (G) is fastened. The adjustable knob (F) can be used to move the arm support forward or backward to adjust the distance the arm support (G) travels upward. The arm support (G) has a wrist strap (H) and a forearm strap(I) which is attached to the wrist and forearm strap attachment surfaces (J) on the arm support.
